N.Z. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP
Since the last N.Z. Ladies’ Tournament was held in Nelson in 1912, considerable alterations have been made to the links, tho main ones being the lengthening of the thirteenth and eighteenth greens, competitors now having to negotiate the swamps, whereas previously they were not called upon to undergo this somewhat trying ordeal.. -There has also been a considerable extension of hunkers throughout the course. ,
! The local committee has been very busy this season preparing the ground for the event, and visitors should find considerable improvements. The clubhouse has been extended and made residential The Links will bo at the entire disposal of the tournament committee. The dining-room of the clubhouse will be turned into a lounge and catering will be done in largo marquee adjoining. The long-continued spell of frosts and surtny days has made the greens particularly keen ,and a few showers before opening day would be appreciated. MIRAMAR TOURNAMENT At the Miramar Tournament the championship (three rounds) resulted as follows: Mrs Slack 291; Mrs Wagg 301; Alias Brandon 302; Miss Bell 303.
