BROACHING CARGO

(United Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, March 28. Six firemen off the steamer Kauri we.e charged at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court this afternoon with having broached cargo to the value of £8 6. (3d. Joseph Brooks Handblett, Joseph Gragg, and Henry Flinn, Michael O'Halloran, John English, and John Gray were tho men concerned. Evidence was given regarding the finding of the stolen goods in the firemen's quarters. O'Halloran and Grigg were convicted and sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment. The charges against tho others were dismissed owing to imufficient evdafres*
