BEVAN CASE

(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian & N.Z, Cable Association.) LONDON, Oct. 12. During the hearing of the Bevan case at the Guildhall John P. Bamlall Parsons gave evidence that he was holding a power of attorney for his brother, Col. Win. Frederick Parsons, absent in Australia, for whom he had £15,00 to invest. Ho enquired into the prospects of the City Equitable and its associated company. He saw Bevan, who assured him the prospects were good, even though the immediate yield of shares at market price was below the yield from government stock. Witness decided to hay the company’s shares. Before he saw Bevan he bought 200 preferences for £617 for his brother, and a hundred for his wife for £202 10s. *
