SERIOUS CHARGE WITHDRAWN

(United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The charge against Martha Jane O’Shaughnessy of having caused the death of Elsie May Fraider by omitting to perform a legal duty, was to-day withdrawn by the Crown. The death of accused’s daughter, Mrs Inuic, altered the whole aspect of the case. Mr Singer, for accused, asserted that there was no evidence of neglect against either of the accused women, the allegation being that a doctor should have been called in sooner. Mr Boynton, S.M., agreed to tlie charge being withdrawn.
