PREFERENCE TO UNIONISTS
PROTESTS AGAINST ABOLITION

WELLINGTON, This Day. The Wellington Trades and Labour Council prepared a lengthy statement protesting against the movement amongst the farmers for the abolition of preference to unionists. “Tho time has gone by forever when employers may deal with their workers as slaves,’’ the statement says, “and if the industrial legislation of the Dominion is interfered with at the farmers’ dictation in the manner suggested there can be no doubt but that in time wc shall be experiencing the same sort of labour troubles to which America- is at present smbject, and to which every country in Europe 'has been subject during the last few
