DARING JEWEL ROBBERY

The most daring jewel coup for yearsr occurred at Euston, when thieves secured two cases of samples worth £30,000, A jewellers’ traveller deposited the cases in the cloak room on Sunday and two similar cases were deposited shortly afterwards the coatents of which were valueless. A man tho following day presented receipts and obtained the jewels. The theft was discovered when the traveller pro sen ted tho genuine receipts. _ . It is suggested that during the ,nig/R the intruder transposed the tickets pasted on tho cases, but Die numbers differed oulv as regards final figures, facilitating'Dm forgery of the receipts.
