ANNIVERSARY SERVICES
CHURCH OF CHRIST BIBLE SCHOOL
Large audiences filled the School of Music’vesterdav on the occasion of (ho Church* of Christ. Bible School anniversary. It was expected that Mr J. 0. Price would this year speak at the Sunday nfeetings, hut owing to indisposition he* was unable to do so, and Dr. Weeks (Dean of Nelson),-at very short notice, gave an address to the children at the afternoon session, taking as his theme the Cawthron organ with its complex system of pines, and leading up to (he 18th verse of I.' Cor.,. 12. showing (he value and importance of each individual life. Air John Griffith presided, and prizes were presented to the primary class. At the evening meeting Air 1 ercy Bolton debit with the “Boyhood of Jesus,” His early training in the Holy Scriptures, and the effect of His environment. in forming a groundwork for His earthly ministry, concluding with a powerful appeal. Air Bolton impressed on his hearers the necessity for living Up to Christian ideals. A prominent feature at both services was the fine part-singing of the children, supplemented by the choir. reflecting credit on Air George Kymc, who bad trained them, and who acted as conductor. Mrs Cunningham ably presided at the Cawthron organ. The services will be further continued to-night, when the children will again sing and give a programme /ff recitations, etc. Prizes gained during the year will he presented, and an interesting evening; pi ay he anticipated.
