The line weather on Saturday afternoon was taken advantage of by bowlers, and the Nelson and Maitai greens were fully occupied. Rinks matches were plaved on the Maitai green, while on 'the Nelson green scratch games were playedAt. the Nelson green afternoon tea was kindly supplied by the vice-presi-dent (Mr' 0. I.eaper). P.ink matcheswill commence next week.

J.hesc badges have, boon presented to the Club by ilie Rail’s' winners for the past two years, for fall rink competition. Up to Ist December the badges are to remain in tbo Club. After that dale the badges may be challenged for by any jink from any club in the district, the domes and first holders (J. H. Moore, E, iNonis, J. A. Adams and G. Rapps) were challenged hv a rink consisting ol \V. .\. Maddox. G. G. Wearing, E. JThomas and T. Goodman. Tho ganie provided a most exciting contest which possessed several incidents ol rare occurrence on a howling green. In one head a bowl was played which rested on kit tv, touching it. Moore played the next howl, witli precisely the same result Mr G. Dee wns called mas umpire, ami decided that both bowls were touching kitty and declared ho head a draw. On the 21st head the challengers wore two up. Moore got hi. a shot and a measure. Adams, with his in ip, bowl, drew another beauty. Air, G. Deo adjudicated on the moasuie, civing tho holders 3, and making the final scores 17 do 16. The donors were heartily congratulated hv the Chib meml j-ers on their win. A challenge has row been lodged bv a strong inm consisting of Messrs G Dee. W. HockPV W. A. 'Maddox, and G. l '.Ueai-| ing. This will be. played off on the first, available opportunity, probably on th Club's opening day. j
