THE COMING ELECTIONS

THE»line work accomplished by the band contest committee brings out the suggestion that there is room for committeemen on some seats in the City Council. On that and other local bodies there is fine scope for the energies that have been displayed in connection with the band contestmoreover, most, if not all, of the members of the committee are men who previously have, not taken a great part in public matters of this kind. For some reason or other some of the public offices are filled by men who have made a hobby of public business.
