ROAD BOARD
The usual monthly meeting of the Stoke Road Board was held on Friday, the Gtb Inst., when there were present: Messrs F. W. O. Smith (chairman), T. B. Chisnail, F. C. Pago, G. Macmahon, and A. Toswill.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, and the members’ report on roads was received. The bvork on Clover-road lias been completed, also on the Raimau road and MacShaue’s road. A few loads at gravel were authorised to be put on the Talmna School roricl, and a few days’ gravelling on the Enner Glynn road. Correspondence was received as follows ;—From the Resident Engineer re Roding River bridgb.—Resolved that as many members as possible meet the Engineer when ho visits the proposed site, ami that Sir "Stratford be notified of the date of the visit. From S. E. Gough, Tahuna, re culvert. —Received. No action t a kern From G. J. LitchHeld, Hope, re deepening ditch. — Permission granted to deepen and widen as far as the Willow corner culvert. From York Bros, re dump Training Farm Road.—Messrs Macmalion and Toswill to inspect and report. From residents Bishopdalo re opening road from Enner Glynn wool died to Mr P. Cliiug’s bouse, Wakatu.— Messrs Macmahon and Toswill to report. It was resolved to grant permission to six Hope residents to erect telonlione posts and wires under the usual conditions. The repairing of culverts in Aniseed Valiev was left in the hands of Air Chisnail. Resolved, the Board authorise four days’ work for embankment purposes on Clover-road. Accounts wqre passed for payment totalling £O6 6s 7d,
