CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 29. The Board of .Trade, has recommended to the Minister of _ that the embargo on the shipment of potatoes abroad be lifted until November 15 th.

The Board of Trade had a conference wit*, members of the Boot Manufacturers’ Associationi regarding .the board’s footwear proposals. Various points arising but of the scheme were fully discussed, and at the close of the conference several of those present gave notice of their intention to apnly immediately for licenses to ipa-™l- - This, however, does not mean that the manufacturers will, commence work on footwear at once, as they have commitments in hand which will keep them bogy until the end of the year, but it is Expected that -early next year . .stbfcks -rof .boots will b® available for retailers.
