SPIRITED PROTEST.

WELLINGTON, Oct. 28. A remark ,by_ Mr Wdlioid (Hutt) called, forth a spirited protest frorri the Prime Minister to-daV.
Mr Wilford wa s making a statement by the indulgence, of the House regarding the TumnbuU Bequest lb the nation.. He referred to the Caw Huron Bequest, and; gaid it would be subsidised if not by t.hi s Government, by a future Government.
Mr Maesey: That is party politics. Air Wilford said, he did not, see any objection to the* remark.
Mr AlaKsey: 1 gave you, an opportunity to make a, (statement', and you use it in this way. You won’t get it again. Mr Wilford: It is not a party speech. , ' Mr Massey: T tl is not playing tne game. Mr Wilford-: My word ; you ' are in a bad temper. Mr Massey; You are not playing the game. Mi* Wilford : I always play the game.
