In the Union House of Assembly, Mr Gressweil moved in favour of the cons itution of a Railway Board to consist of an equal number of Governmentnominees and representatives of the railway service. . The .Minister of Railways declined to accept the motion, on the ground that it would mean giving 36,000 railway employees equal representation -with the whole of the rest of ".he community. The proposal, he declared, meant ruin and disaster. He announced that the Government wa, establishing a Conciliation Board to deal with hours of pay and cognate matters. An amendment was moved in favour of.-an advisory council equally representative of tho Government and railwa*yraen. . The : debate -was adjourned. •
