BOLSHEVIST RISING. 347 ENTENTE TROOPS DISARMED. (Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn. & Reuter) VIENNA, March 24. It is reported that Hungary’s Bolshevist Government is gaining support* and is determined to resist Polish Czecho-Slovakkn, and Roumanian croachments. Communists disarmed 247 Entente troops at Budapest. The Entente mission has departed BANKS OCCUPIED (Aust. & N.Z.. Cable Assm & Reuter) VIENNA, March 24. . Soon after Karolyi resigned, the Bolsheviks at Budapest disarmed fof reigners and removed their military badges and decorations. Sailors posted i machine guns in the streets and occu- ; pied 'the Czecho-Slovak Embassy. Entente Ministers left the city. Some shops were pillaged the following day. The Bolshevik spirit is increasingly felt in Vienna. Thousands demonstrated in favour of a Bolshevik regime. PANIC AT BUDAPEST BOLSHEVIK ARMY FROM RUSSIA REPORTED TO BE EN ROUTE. (Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn. & Reuter) (Rec. March 26, 10.5 a.m. PARIS, March 25. There is a panic at Budapesth. The remainder of Hungary is quiet, with no indication of joining the Soviets. A Bolshevik ■ army is reported to be en route to Hungary from Russia, and is said to be in the neighbourhood of Brody. It is believed at Prague that the Bolsheviks ave merely the Karolyi Government puppets. EMPEROR AND EMPRESS. PARIS, March 21. KAROLYI NEGOTIATING WITH BOLSHEVIKS. • (Roc. March 26, 11.25 a.m.) BERNE, March 25. Reports from Budapest state that Karolyi for months past has been negotiating with Russian Bolsheviks with the object of introducing Bolshevism into Roumania and Jugo-Slavia. It is alleged that the Russian and Hungarian armies are co-operating against Rou:mania with the object of threatening the frontier. ROUMANIA THREATENED. (Rec, March 26, 1.20 p.m.) PARIS, March 25. The proclamation of a Soviet Republic in Hungary creates a precarious situation in Roumapia and the' new Czecho-Slovak States. j The Soviet's manifesto appeals to the peasants or TToumania and Czecho-Slavia to joiTTUic revolution, which intends to i free them from the yoke of the capitalist and prevent the Entente' handing over Hungary to the Roumanian oli- | garchy. A great anti-Entente demonstration favoured a Soviet republic, but the Austrian Central Workers’ Council 'rejected Hungarian overtures, owing to Austria’s dependence upon the Entente for food.
