- i * . THIRTY-FIVE AMENDMENTS! JAPAN’S DESIRES. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) (Rec. March 26, 12,5 p.m.) PARIS, March 24. The League Commission received 35 amendments, whereof 25 are from neutrals in the nature of suggestions, chiefly in the direction of securing clearer interpretations. Two important amendments are Japanese, for equality of treatment and French for the creation of an Allied ! staff to secure speedy military action against sudden aggression. The Labour and Crimes Commissions have now completed their investigations and are engaged in drafting final reports. Like the Polish Commission’s report, each of tnese reports will be subject to rigorous dissection by the Council of Ten and much time is likely to elapse before finality is reached. PAN-AMERICAN UNION, ' (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) NEW YORK, March 24. The Pan-American requested the American delegates at Paris, to : insist upon the insertion of a clause' in the League Of Nations covenant safeguarding Monroeism and allowing the Pan-American Union or some similar body' care of completely American questions. Senator Hitchcock, of the .Foreign Nations Committee, said that the spread of Bolshevism in Europe .would do more to hasten peace and solidifv the' Allies than anything vet devised (Rec.
