CORRESPONDENCE

THE MARSDEN PRESENTATION CAR.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —As one of the public and a subscriber to the Silver Bullet. Fund, I would like to know through jour columns if the police have been successful in tracing the person who removed Miss Marsden's pr-esentation car and left it in a ditch at Stoke. I see that the reward has not been claimed yet. Trusting that the culprit will be brought to book and severely punished. I am, etc., INQUIRER. (To the Editor.) Sir, —I should very.'much like to know if the people who took the car presented by Miss Marsden for the Silver Bullet Fund were ever discovered. It seems strange that after so much commotion re same the whole matter should be unsettled. It would be much more satisfactory to subscribers if they were enlightened as to the present position. •I am, etc., A. LOWDEN. {The above letters are typical of several received. Some coiTespondents appear to think there is an endeavour to "•hush it up." Others make insinuations which we are unable to publish without evidence. Seen to-day, S?rgt. Barrett states that despite extensive inquiries the police have been unable to clear up the matter in any way. He further states there has been no attempt made by anyone to hush up the matter, and- that he has been given all assistance possible by the Silver Bullet Executive. Sergt. Barrett also states that he will be pleased to receive any information that may lead to the discovery of the culprit.)
