SILVER BULLET CANNONADE
THE BAROMETER AT £9OOO.
The Barometer showed £IOOO increase this morning, and at 3 o'clock this afternoon it went up another £IOOO, and now stands at £9OOO, an increase of £2OOO since Saturday. THE FUSILIERS. The Brook fusiliers have elected Miss G. Clark as their Princess, and have also elected Mrs Crawford to the rank of Colonel. THE RANGERS. An entertainment in -aid of the above fund was presented in the Oddfellows' Hall, Richmond, on Friday evening by Mr .Lints, assisted by a chorus a,tid squad of dancers from Nelson. Several sleight of hand tricks were cleverly performed by Mr Lints, and 'Mrs Jacobson rendered som pleasing solos. The chief feature of the 'programme, however, was the dancing of a, squad of eight ladies, who assisted' iD the song of "Just .-a 'Night in .Dreamland," and "Whistle It," while the Dutch dance was very effective. The acrdbatic dance by Miss Scott and Mr Lints "was another very popular item. The performance .concluded -with an exhibition by two teddy bears, which gave a very clever representation. The War Office in Trafalgar-street will be closed during Paddy's Market. The Secretary -will be in attendance at the Drill Shed, Telephone 92.*
