Mr W. E. Thomas, a member of ♦he New Zealand Expeditionary Force, whose death was referred- to in yesterday's issue, was a brother of Mr E. J. Thomas, town clerk of Richmond.
Mr Fred. Cramnwnd, 'ormcrly manager of the Union Steamship Company at Gisborne and Inveicargill and' manager at Laimccstoii for the past five years, died suddenly there yesterday.— Press Association.
Mrs W. H. Stafford, of Mapua, has received word by ,caT>le that h'cr son, Private A. I. Stafford, who left NewZealand with the Main Body, is again in hospital, suffering from eye tremble. The last letter received from Private Stafford was written in England. Today Mrs Stafford's youngest son Roy leftwith the Seventeenth Reinforcements, hebeing the last of' three toothers to enlist. Mrs Stafford's eldest son died at Wellington from an illness contracted at Trentham. Private Roy Stafford made two earlier attempts to enlist, but per-, sistence and treatment 'finally removed I the ground of" objection.
