SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS
, I'hess Association.—Coptbiqhx. 1 ADELAIDE, March 8. In the Assembly elections five Labour members were returned unopposed. The returns are incomplete, but there are prospects of an even contest. Labour leads against the Premier at Victoria, and the Attorney-General's Sturt seat is uncertain. Mr. H. Homburg, who is of German extraction, and who resigned the Attorney-Generalship owing to bitter racial attacks, has been vindicated by the Murray electors, and it at present placed on the list. PREMIER AND AfTORNEY-GEN-ERA_L DEFEATED. (R-eeeive-d 10.5 a.m.} ADELAIDE, This Day. The latest election figures show that Labour has gained three seats. In the Sturt division the AttorneyGeneral was defeated. The Premier has lost his seat. It is anticipated that the Opposition will gain a slight majority. INCREASE IN MEMBERS. (Received 10.5 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. The Assembly members have been increased from 42 to 46, and the Council members from 18 to 20. HOTELS TO €iX)SE AT SIX O'CLOCK (Received 10.5 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. The referendum on the early closing of the hotels resulted in an absolute majority for 6 o'clock.
