WELLINGTON, March 28.

As the result of comniercial negotiations, it is understood that there is the possibility of a new direct line of steamers being established between Japanese ports and New Zealand in the near future. It is understood that the routes tentatively decided upon include calls at Wellington, Auckland, New Caledonia, and a Philippines port. The managing agents in Australasia for the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (Messrs Burns, P-hil.p and Co.) have registered their company in New Zealand, and intend opening their own offices in the bsuiness centres of the Dominion.
