The high south-west wind blowing yesterday was indirectly responsible for an accident to Mr E. B. Fleming. While handling furniture on a cart at Richmond, the wind blew a mattress off the vehicle or to the horse attached, at the same time knocking Mr Fleming off his balance and on to the ground. The startled horse bolted, and the wheels of the vehicle passed over Mr Fleming. Subsequent examination by Dr. Lucas showed that Mr Fleming had received considerable bruises, and ne will be confined to his bed for a few days. The horse and trap were uninjured.
