The Labour Council appointed a deputation to visit Mr EsteLle, and urge action to prevent a dislocation in the iron trade, owing to Judge Heydon's recent judgment against increases of wages during the war. (Received 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The High Court awarded Alfred Huddy, a miner, £I9OO, record damages, for injuries received by a fall" of stone while employed by the Hampden Cloncurry Mining Company. Huddy sustained a'fractured sTcull, both jaws were broken, three ribs cracked, his left leg shattered, and his right arm mangled. The latter had to be amputated. Huddy recovered, arid this is regarded in surgery "as" a miracle. •
