SERVIANS' GREAT VICTORY
HELP FROM FRANCE. ■PRISONERS' HEARTRENDING STORIES. (Received Dec. 18. 8.50 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. Reuter states that Servia.'s victory provoked demonstrations in the large cities in Austria and Hungary against the methods of carrying on the war, and denouncing General Potoriek. Police at Budapest dispersed demonstrators. Details of the rout show that 1 ranee supplied Servia with several of her most modern batteries and an abundance of, ammunition. The Austrians lost two entire army corps in casualties and prisoners. The latter include fonr hundred Italians whom Servia offered to send Italy. Prisoners tell heartrending stories of hardships. A number died of exhaustion and frost. Many were foodless for 72 hours. . ... n Manv Servians are also in a pitiable plight'owing to lack of hospital appliances.
