German, flanking operations oit the Carpathians and the Vistula are being conducted on an immense scale with reinforcements. General Hindenberg now has 20 army corps in Hungary. Austro-Germans to the number of 170, 000 crossed the Carpathian passes. They, include three Austrian corps recently withdrawn from Servia. AUSTRIAN REPORT. (Received Dec. 18, 8.50 a.m.) PARIS, Dec. 17. An Austrian communique states that the Austrians are pursuing the Russians, along the entire front in Galicia and. south Poland. „■,,'• The Austrians advanced to Zakhczyn and recaptured Bochnia. The Russians have not yet abandoned the advance on Latorcza Valley m the Carpathians.
