ST JOSEPH'S SCHOOL
PICNIC AND PRIZE-GIVINO. The pupils of St. Joseph's Sohool broke up for the Christmas holidays on luesday, and accompanied by their leaeners. went by the 10 a.m. train to \Va*3faeld where an enjoyable outing was hek.. xne snorts, conducted by Father Fmnerty, were kept up with keen interest throughout the afternoon, when the party returned to town. Before the departure for the picnic the Rev. Father Amsworth addressed the children, giving some wise counsels to those who had finished their course at St. Joseph's, and expressing his appreciation of the work done in thf school' during the year. He then distributed a few rewards to the »upils. The chi«<f of these were the following ; Dux (gold medal): Noel Frank. Good conduct (gold . nxedal, presented bv Mr D Kerr): Dowling Ward. Good conduct (medal, presented by Miss O'Connor): lone Turner. . Regular attendance (rriedal by Rev Father Ainsworth): Monica B Christian doctrine (prize presented by Miss R. Frank): Bernard Ellis.
