ANDREE'S BALLOON

PARTS BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN FOUND IN SIBERIA.

ST. PETERSBURG, May 28. A. Yahutsk telegram states tliat parts of an old balloon were found in a forest in Eastern Siberia. They are supposed to be the remains of Andree's 'balloon.

(Salomon August Andree, a Swoodfsli engineer, undertook, in 1896, a balloon voyage to the 'North Pole. With two .others he started from Danes' Island on July 11th, 1897, and was never again seen. An expedition set out to search for him two years later, but found no trace.)
