At' the conference of the Provincial Farmers' Union to-night it • was resolved ■-that the Government should be urged to watch carefully the operations of rr.eat and other trusts in New Zealand. One member state.-* thai the meat trust "was at'present established in Australia, and there was good' reason to believe that it has come to New Zealand, hut there was'no reason to tear; the trast was operating merely in the trade. - He added : 'ln fact, we want thejri. So long as they do not take over the control of cur freezing works no harm will be done. Ome they do that the country will be in deadly danger. Ko legislation would remedy this state of affairs, but the difficulty could be overcome only by the .farmers themselves. ' Let them be loyal to their own companies at anv cost and all would "be well "
