NELSON V. H.M.S. PSYCHE

This match was played in the Bo- I tanical Gardens Monday afternoon be- I fore a good number of spectators and 1 ended, after a good, hard game, in favour of the Psychs by .5 goals to 1. Nelson won the toss and started off with tho sun in their favour. For line [first five minutes the. game was of a; I ding-dong nature, the Psyche outside left ' : being prominent in a- run which ended in ; Bradley turning the ball over the bar. ) I From the behind kick the ball went to ; the Nelson forwards, who, after a' pretty 1 'display of passing, left Bradstock iii | possession, who scored with a well-timed i I shot —Nelson 1, Psyche 0. The Psyche! [ forwards then seemed to wake up. Brad- j ley was repeatedly called upon to save. Ten minutes from half-time Everett was , injured, which necessitated his leaving; the field, and soon after this the Psycho j centre-forward put the scores level with a shot from close range. Half-time arrived with the score, 1 all. The second half opened with a good set-too between the Psyche forwards and the Nelson ba-''ks. and but for the steady nlay of Beveridgo. at centre-half they would have scored in the early stages. Urwin, at left-back, was playing a good game, as also was McEvoy at right-half. After 10 minutes of the second half had elapsed the Psyche outside right scored fromclose range, and another goal was quickly added, making the score 3—l. Tho Nelson forward line of four men could not seem to get any combination after their inside right had'gone off, and for the remainder of tho game were never j dangerous. Two more goals were added : by the Psyche before the whistle sounded for time, thus leaving the boit team winners by 5 goals to 1. Nelson may be ; considered very unlucky in having to ! play the second half with only ten men, ; and but for this they would certainly j have made the scores more even. I
