DRUG HABIT
YOUNG CLERK'S DOWNFALL
LONDON, May 4
A clerk, aged 18 years, was sentenced to imprisonment at, tho London sessions for stealing. He confessed that he took large quantities of menthol snuff, and medical evidence suggested that his downfall was attributable to the drug, which gradually affected his brain arid would probably have killed him.

A young' servant girl from South Wales' left her iiome to take service. Her parents lost sight of her, and thou learnt that she was living at Warmley. They went to the house, and the girl answered the door.
Her uncle pulled her out of the house, when eight or ten men are alleged to have rushed from the house, overturning him and retaking the girl, crowds fusillading thern with stories. v The police were compelled to interfere in order to protect the missionaries, who deny that they are Mormons.'
