SOCIAL QUESTION.

At yesterday's' session of ' the W.C.T.tT. Convention. ' i>~ Elizabeth Gunn, superintendent of the department of social, purity, gave; a nio'srt-. interesting 'address on "Purity and Moral Education in Individual Social and National Life.'
The following resolutions were carried :-
"This convention expresses its satisfaction a* l '- the decision of the Christchurch. Hospite! Boari* to niste«- provision for inexpensive and- easily accessible medical treatment without registration, or publicity, for all sufferers from venereal diseases; and, futher, the convention urges all hospital boards to follow the same course."
"This convention a;lso declares that any attempt' to legalise the social evil bv regulation will be strenuously opposed The regulation system is condemned a<= being wrong l in-"principle, and- a failure in practice. Regulation increases' vice, and ; fails to'.reduce'disease. li/'tends to corrupt the young ami to demoralise the police charged with its administration." "That-a v.ote of thanks be accorded to Di* Fenwick. for his action in moving the Hospital Board to adopt measures for the relief of sufferers from venereal diseases."
