NELSON' ASSOCIATION.

VISIT OF AUSTRALIAN TEAM.

A meeting of the Nelson Cricket Association was held in the Commercial Hotel last evening. Present: Messrs H. Finney (in the chair), C. Treweek, G. Richmond, R. Johnston, N. A. Vercoe, and E. R. Neale. The business was to make further arrangements in connection with the visit of the Australian team.

The offer of Mr Gay to provide a drag for the conveyance of the visitors, during their stay was accepted. Mr C Haggitt was appointed as umpire for the Nelson team, and Mr J. A. Stewart as scorer. It was resolved that the selectors make the appointment of captain. The secretary was instructed to inform the players selected that practices must be attended, or changes in the team might be found necessary. Arising out of a letter from' the Nel son Advancement Society, the secretary, Mr E. R. Neale, was appointed to r. >.-- tend the meetings of the society. The meeting then terminated.

BRIGHTWATER V WEDNESDAY REPRESENTATIVES.

A match between' Brightwater and the Wednesday representatives was played at the Park yesterday, and ended in a win for the Wednesday men by nine runs on- the first innings. The Wednesday representatives, batting first, scored 108, N. Vercoe going right through for 33 (notout). McLean, by hard hitting, soon brought his total up to 30. McEvoy (10) was the only other double-figure scorer. The tail failed ' to -wag. Brightwater scored. 99. Eden made '26. He was brilliantly caught by Stallard. The first two wickets fell for no runs. Other double-figure scorers were P. Hall 15, Max 13, Boundy 11, Pearless 10.

GRIFFINS' V. ROBERTSONS'

The annual match between the employees of Messrs Griffin and Spns, Ltd., and "Robertson Bros., will be played at the Park on Saturday, play to start at 2 o'clock sharp. The following are the teams: —

COUNTRY MATCHES. TAPAWERA ASSOCIATION. TADMOR V. MOTUPIKO. A match between Tadmor and Motupiko was played at Tadmor on Saturday, resulting in a win for Motupiko by five wickets. Coleman was again in good form, and gave the" Tadmor team some leather hunting. This player in club cricket has scoredi 550 runs from nine innings—an average of 61.1, which is probably the best in the association. Cole also played a good innings. For Tadmor F.
