AUCKLAND, This Day.

The Auckland Gas Company has notified- consumers that in consequence of the steady rise in all costs of manufacture accentuated by ; the effects of the late strike, the company find it necessary to increase the revenue. The directors are averse to increasing the price of gas, and decided to make'a charge for meter; rent, which in the- case of 75 per cent of consumers will, amount, to )6A a month, and larger consumers 9d a month.
