Extraordinary epidemics of scarlet fever, pneumonia, and cerebro spinal meningitis have broken out. Eight hundred have been hospital led at the garrisons of Toul, a'nd- 500 at Nancy. Many other garrisons are affected, apd there are numerous deaths. The epidemic is due to overcrowding 185.000 extra Tecruits, and the delay in the construction of new barracks.
