TAHUNA NEWS
SOME OF THE ATTRACTIONS. Monday will ;be ;i red letter day for the township if Tahuna, the school being reopened under new conditions, a3 a sole school, where all standards are now taught. The Committee have beei. fortunate in being able to select Mr \Y. A. Hall, of Hope, as head-master, who is a very efficient and capable teacher. At Hope the school under his supervision iias made solid progress, the inspectors' reports being good, and everything connected with the school working smoothly. Tahona can therefore look forward to seeing! good work from s «cli an able master. Miss K. M. Bolton is to be assistant, and the Committee have every reason to believe she will fill this position well. The school is to be enlarged by the addition of a room of equal size to the present one, which is much overcrowded. Tahuna beach at almost any hour during the present- hot spell presents a busy appearance. Its increasing popularity as a bathing resort is particularly noticeable, as can be seen a! all hours. The bathing sheds tMectedi by the City Council are much appreciated by all, although one heard complaints of the smallness of the ladies' shed, and the want of divisions. What Xelson and Tahuna really want is that much talked- of tram service, so that not only those who cycle can •enjoy the beach. There are hundreds who "would take a Irip down to the sea if it were made more accessible, and a more delightful beach than Tahuna would be hard to find, and if one requires shade or protection from the wind the city reserve close by is just the spot.
