THE DEADLY PEA RIFLE
MAN SHOT AT BLENHEIM. TWO BOYS ARRESTED. {United Puess Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. A shcoting mishap occurred yesterday. James Neil was at a bench at Parker's flaxmill when he was struck down by a bullet from a pearifle. The bullet came iron; across the river, passed through a canvas partition, and struck Neil in the back near the left shoulder. He was taken to the hospital, and is now in a serious condition. Later in the day the nolice arrested two. boys, Frederick Neiisoh. and Williar m \ttwood>, each about 16, on a chai,T of shooting Neil. It is stated that they were firing with a pearifle at a can on a post, and one shot missed the can and struck Neil. On the application of the police a remand was .granted for a week. Neil is 35 years of -age, and has a ■wife and four children.
