(Unitbd Press Association.l PALMERSTON N., Feb. 19. The country athletic clubs' championship meeting was held here to-day in fine, though oppressive weather. The sport was first class. The McVilly points shield was won by Wairarapa with 38g points, Manawatu second with 23 £- points, and Wanganui third, 15 points. The championship events were won as follows: 880 yards: D. Stuart (Munawatu) 1, W.- Biggulden {Wairarapa) 2, W. Reid (Feilding) 3. Time, 2.15 l-3rd. Long jump: R. McKenzie (Wairarapa), and H. Stratford (Manawatu) tie, 19ft 9in. 100 yards: H. T. Martis (Wanganui) 1, R. Messenger (Wairarapa) 2 J. Walsh (Manawatu) 3. Time 10 l-sth. High jump: A. C. Williams (Wairarapa) 1, R. McKenzie (Wairarapa) 2. Height, sft lin. 220 yards flat: H. T. Martis (Wanganui) 1, R. Messenger (Wairarapa) 2, E. E. Fisher (Wairarapa) 3. Time, 23secs. 120 yards hurdles: Stagpoole (Manawatu) 1, R. McKenzie (Wairarapa) 2; J. Tait (Palmerston) 3. Time, 17 sees. One mile : J. Bradbury (Wairarapa) 1, D. Stuart (Manawatu) 2, W. Reid (Feilding) 3. Time, 4.38. 440 yards : E. E. Fisher (Wairarapa) 1, C. E. Darby (Wanganui) 2, L. Kerr (Manawatu) 3. Time, 55 l-sth. CALEDONIAN SPORTS AT NAPIER. NAPIER, This Day. The Caledonian sports were held yesterday, under the most favourable conditions, and in the presence of a record attendance. The results of the principal events were :—l2O and 200 yards flat, Mexted : 440 yards', C. Hartshorn ; halfmile, C. Boyd ; mile, V. Carrol; mile bicycle, A. Robinson ; two mile bicycle, P.
