The possession lasted for- a - week, and was terminated by the unexpected re-entry .of prominent members of the old union, who open the doors while the hall was empty. Since that tirn® the members of the union have occupied the premises, the secretary, Mr Franklin, holding the keys, and using the :building,for the old union's purposes. -Yesterday afternoon, eight financial members of the old union, but who are on the books of the new union, walked into' the "ha.l to pay their contributions while secretary was there. The secretary insisted on the pavirent of all levies due to the rid un:on. as weil as contributions to this. The members obr jected, expressing their willingness to J»y _ the ordinary contributions, but nothing,'more; - As- the -secretary stood fitnn rn the matter, no payments were niade, and -as; the .members decided that t-h«y had -ja;^right - , to -use the hall they tcok possession of tha bui'ding, and are now the occupants.
