OPPOSITION TO DEFENCE ACT
UNION URGES RACE SUICIDE. (Okitjsd Prkss Association. \ % CHRISTCHTJRCH, Feb. 4. At a largely attended- meeting of the General Labourers' Union to-night the following motion was unanimously agreed to : "That this union views with disgust the prosecuting of bovs two or three times for one offence, the taking away of their civil rights, and the garnisheeing of their wages : and urges upon the citizens to do all in their power to lessen the birth r:t'r> until the Defence Act is repealed.'"
