WELLINGTON, August 5. At the Supreme Court to-day, before the Chief Justice, William Ellis was charged with assaulting Edward Kelly with intent to do bodily harm, and with doing actual bodily harm. He was found not guilty of the major charge, and guilty of common assault, and was committed to probation for 12 months, conditions being that he should not touch alcoholic liquor within that period, and that he pay £8 8s costs. John Albert Corbett and Albert Stockbridge were charged with having broken .and entered the premise* oT F. Coopev, Ltd., seedsmen. Corbett was found not guilty. Stockbridge, who pleaded guilty was remanded for sentence. This Day. John Albert Corbett and Albert Stockbridge were charged at the Supreme Court vesterday. with breaking and entering the premises of Cooper, Limited, seedsmen, and stealing the sum of Yd. Corbett was acquitted, Stockbridge taking the blame. Stockbridge, who had been in gaol before, was sentenced to 18 months', and three years' reformative treatment.
