Several European newspapers comment on the gravity of the situation iii Turkey. Torgut Shevket Pasha (Commander of the Albanian expeditionary force) resigned because the artillery "refused to fight the Albanians. r The Albanian revolt is threatening to develop into a- general movement against the Government and the Committee of Progress, owing to' the dragging on of the Italian war, and discontent and intrigue in- Constantinople, while Torgut Shevket Pasha had failed to purge the army of politicians.
