It was the law of the country, and it would have to he obeyed. Defendant said that rather- .than obey tlielaw he would leave the country. CONVICTIONS AT' PALMERSTON NORTH. PALfiVIERSTON N., This Day. ' L. E. Mexted was convicted and ordered to pay 'costs, 7s, - for failing to register for service required under the Defence Act. ; Joseph McAvenue, on a similar charge,' was fined 20s and costs. .
