(Received 10.50 a.m) SYDNEY, This Day. The revenue collected .at- the port Svdnev last year was £373,700, an increase of nearly £47,000. A BARMAID FINED. PALM ERST ON N., Ma.rch 11. An unusual case was heard 'before Mr. A. D. Thomson. S.M., yesterday, when on the information of the Inspector of Awards (Mr. W. J. Culver) Miss Kearney, a barmaid, was charged with failing within seven days after commencement of the operation of the award, to 'become a member of the Wellington Amalgamated Society of Cooks and Waiters' Industrial Union of Workers. Mr. Culver said the defendant .refused to join the Union, and had since left the district. A fine of jo2 was imposed.
