The general committee of the Ne'.scn Agricultural njid Pastoral Association met at Richmond on Saturday .night, Mr Godfrey Best (president) oacupicd the chair. The Canterbury Association wrote inviting entries for the forthcoming New Zealand Draught Horse Stud Book. Tht seeretary (Mr Glen) said ( h<; could supply forms to those desirous of entering their horses. Mr Thomas Greig \yrote taking exception to the award at the last shdw for an Ayrshire heifer. A discussion took place, it being considered that the complaint had been made too late, also that the schedule of prizes said- nothing about the animals being purebred. It was considered if the classes, were restricted to pure breeds there would be very few oxhi bits, and if two classes (pedigree and crossbred) were made it meant increas ing the prize money. The matter was l-eferred. to the annual meeting of th<Association. Mr Higgins suggested that_ the secre tary be elected a' life member of t,>.e committee. He pointed out that Mr. Glen nominated more, persons, for membership than anyone el6e. It was pointed out that by resolution Mr Glen had been allowed to propose the candidates he had canvassed for. The president and Messrs May and Harkncss were apoointed to assist the secretary in checking the "ballot for the election of officers and committee. On the motion of Mr it was agreed to state the numbers polled for each candidate at the annual general meeting.
