THE BOARD OF CONTROL. DISPUTE. MASS .MEETING AT SYDNEY. (Phess Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, March 11. There was a vast crowd at the Town Hall meeting to protest against the action of tha Board of Control. It was ■decided almost unanimously that the action of the Beard was inimical to the beet interests of Australian cricket. The appearance of Noble was the signal for terrific applause, which did not cease until he rose in acknowledgment. Mr Holman, Attorney-General, declared that the Board hnd violated its constitution bv ignoring rule 9. Although the Board refused to give the players an answer to their question concsrning the nppointment of the manager, it asked for their unconditional acceptance of the invitation. He considered that what was f-auce for the goose should be sauce for the gander. Mr Wade said he v.-as pre6enfe in the interests of oeace. Even at a late hour something should be done to see that Australia was represented bv the b-e'st ieam. As the present one was constituted it was not the best. There should be efive and take on both sides. His sympathies were with tho six players. THOROUGHLY REPRESENTATIVE TEAM WANTED. WHAT THE RULES INTENDED. (Received 8.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Mr. Wade's motion that the Board of Control be requested to take tihe necessary steps to ensure Australia sending a representative- team to take part in the triangular matches, was carried. Noble, in moving that the resolutions be forwarded to the Board, said that he did not- object to the Board, ibut to some of the members of it. He strongly objected to a democratic aboard .'being governed >by a despot. The evident intention. of the rules was that players should appoint a manager, the Board to ratify the appointment. •
