THE IMPERIAL STATIONS. IM PEHiA LST ATIONSi MARCONI TENDER ACCEPTED. (Press Association. —Copyright.) LONDON, March 8. The Postmaster-General has accepted the Marconi Company's terms for the construction of Imperial wireless stations, subject to Parliamentary ratification.
The stations in England, Cyprus, Aden, Bangalore, South Africa, and Singapore will be constructed immediately. Each will cost £60,000, exclusive of sites for the buildings. The company will also receive ten per cent, of the gross receipts during 28 years, the currency of the agreement. TERMS OF THE CONTRACT. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Private advices .state that the British Government has- entered into a contract for a term of 28 vears with thfe- Marconi Companv to link the Empire with wireless. It is proposed to erec-t stations immediately in England, Cyprus, Aden, Bangalow, South Africa, and Singapore. The Company will be paid £60.000 oer station, exclusive of the site and buildings, and 10 per cent, on the traffic.
