Three teams of Takaka bowlers visited Motueka on Saturday last, and engaged in a tlirce-rink. match wifch the Motueka Club, the result beirig a win for the Takaka players by 15 points in the aggregate. The weather looked very ugly in the morning, but only a slight shower fell, which was just sufficient to make it necessary to seek shel-» ter. The green was in excellent order, the visitors expressing themselves pleased with the surface. Play began at 10 a.m., the first game being completed by the one o'clock lunch adjournment, Takaka bsing live to the good. Tht afternoon game resulted in Takaka scoring 11 points more than the local teams; but in the third game, which was a short one of ten heads, the Motueka players succeeded in scoring a win by one* point, McKee's rink having a lead of 14 on Johnston's, and Griffins' rink a lead of nine on Adams's rink. Percy, however, was not so successful, going down by 22 points to Haldane. The ladies of Motueka provided afternoon tea, which was much appreciated by the flayers and visitors generally.
