Following a thunderstorm a hug*' wave broke over the.sea front at Trieste. The wharves were swamped, -n-u-cl railway and
tram lines torn up. Eight- Austrian. LIO3XIs boat* broke from their moorings.
The damage amounts to a, million sterling. It is estimate,! that a hundred
people were killed.
