CAUGHT IN THE STORM
MAIL STEAMER DAMAGED
SYDNEY, Friday. The mail steamer Pacifique was caught in the recent storm, and has- been docked. Her stern: frame is fractured .and the rudder post bent, while nine plates will require removing.
A ROUGH TRIP. SYDNEY. Friday. The Bellambi has arrived from Hokianiga. She encountered fierce southwesterly gales throughout the voyage, and was compelled to take shelter for a day under Lord Howe Island, where the captain landed. The Islanders reported the heaviest gales for years. Part of the foreshore was washed away. A quantity of Oregon timber drifted ashore.
