The Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting was continued to-day in sultry weather. The attendance, though large, was not up to Saturday's record, and totalisator investments showed a falling off. being £20,489, as against £23,01 X last year. The racing was again interesting, the victory of Danube in the Derby being very popular. The results were :

All istarted. Time 1.27. Epsom High Weight: Dearest (9.10) 1, Morecambe (9.0) 2, Obsono (9.10) 3. All started. Time 7.15 1-5. Derby Stakes : Danube 1. Birktlale 2, Countermine 3. Also started: Tribulation. Danube made all the running and easily stalling off the challange by Birisdale in the straight, won by half a length. Time, 2.38. Juvenile Plate: Sunburnt 1, Miscount 2, Peirene 3. Also started : Kohinooi. Madam Madcap, and Formless. Time 59 2-5. Metropolitan Handicap : Prim 1, Kopu 2, John 3.
