RACECOURSE ACCIDENT. A JOCKEY AND TWO HORSES KILLED. [Press Association—Copyright.] (Received 11.40 a.m.) ADELAIDE, Monday. Five horses fell in the Trial Stakes at Morpethville. A jockey named Sutherland was fatally injured,, and two horses —Steelcap and Sonata—were killed. COLLAPSE OF A FOUNDRY. A GIRL KILLED AND 30 PERSONS INJURED. (Received April 18, 10.40 a.m.) MADRID, Sunday. A metal foundry collapsed at Valencia. A girl was killed and 30 other persons were injured. EXPLOSION ON A LOCOMOTIVE.
11 PERSONS KILLjfiD. (Received April 18, 11.40 a.m.) MEXICO, Sunday. A locomotive exploded at Montcroy through a mechanic over-screwing a safety valve. Eleven persons were killedDEATH AT A NURSING HOME. AN INFECTED INSTRUMENT. DUNEDIN, Monday. At the inquest on the body of Jeannie MeColl, who died in child birth, the jury found that the deceased's death was due to puerperal infection, following an operation, and added a rider that infection was due to the use of an' instrument, but. by whoM the evidence did not show; and also that the woman Durston, in whose house McColl died, erred in neglecting to call in a doctor at an earner period.
